Start by downloading the Content Progress plugin.
This adds two columns to the Posts screen for Flags and Notes.
If you want to edit a post’s progress status then you need to click on the Quick Edit link below a post and edit the Content Progress section.
This plugin has a few editable settings that can be edited under Settings, Content Progress.
The plugin comes with custom flags to represent different post statuses and flags to optimize your workflow.
